The nationalist right is going to prey on your fears until you vote away Schengen. They will do so rather than develop policy that will allow all the peoples of Africa to stay at home and live their lives in prosperity. Doing so they will turn the clock back to the 19th century and the hell of warring isolated nation states from which we have been trying to emerge with the EU.

You won't answer it because like all leftist grandstanding you have to stay with the abstract and the general ("migration is good for the economy!") and steer well clear of the specifics.
The specifics, the details, are uncomfortable ground for you. They force you to defend the indefensible. There are 65m displaced people in the world today, can they all come to Europe?
There are a billion people in Africa, can they all come too?
You have never lived in Africa. I have. There are 265m people living on or under $1.25 a day, and many tens of millions more just above that. They would all like to move to Europe for free healthcare, free education and free money from the welfare state. Of course they will come if the borders of Europe are not secured.
The Syrians are a sideshow here. The bigger issue is whether we are prepared to welcome tens of millions of mainly muslim migrants and change the character of Europe irrevocably forever.

I've not followed this thread, but I'd just like to stick my three-penn'orth in and say that unless the EU start blowing these muslim fuckers out of the water (or wherever they are) then this tide of shit will continue for fuck knows how long. As long as the UK and Europe is ruled by wet liberals (which they are) then there is absolutely no stopping these people.
Wars or no wars, they know they're better off anywhere in Europe, wherever they end up.
